I cannot have a concept of football where everything is based on the opposition.‘We have to dictate the game, we have to be the ones taking the initiative, and we have to entertain the people coming to watch us. I’m 100 per cent convinced of those things, and I think I could do it.’MORE: Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud admits beating Arsenal in Europa League final was extra specialMORE: Dennis Bergkamp claims Arsene Wenger made a tactical mistake that sparked Arsenal’s declineFollow Metro Sport across our social channels, on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. For more stories like this, check our sport page. In that game it was clear to see what his intentions were with the team,’ Bergkamp told Sportsmail. I don’t know if you remember the AC Milan of Arrigo Sacchi, with Marco van Basten, Ruud Gullit and Frank Rijkaard. ‘In training, they’d have ropes between them, so the distance between the players was always similar on the pitch. ‘That was fantastic in our team as well. There was always a connection. There were no holes.More: FootballRio Ferdinand urges Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to drop Manchester United starChelsea defender Fikayo Tomori reveals why he made U-turn over transfer deadline day moveMikel Arteta rates Thomas Partey’s chances of making his Arsenal debut vs Man CityThe former striker feels for Arteta because he feels it is clear work is being done, but the players might not be up to it.‘He’s working on it, but it needs time and maybe different players. Slowly you can see them trying to play a possession game,’ continued Bergkamp.‘Everyone on the ball has three options, triangles on the pitch. It’s much better than before. But it’s a different culture which will take time. You have to put the hours in, like how we did with Arsene.’last_img read more

Bryan Hoeing

first_imgYesterday I wrote about a potential Indiana All-Star in Josh Speidel, and today my blog is about another Indiana All-Star who is having a tough year.  All of you are familiar with the ACL injury that Bryan Hoeing suffered in basketball early in the season.  Fortunately, he was able to start playing baseball after a short delay.Things seemed to be going fine for Bryan until one May afternoon when he had to leave the mound in the 3rd inning of a ball game.  It has been determined that he suffered an elbow injury that usually requires Tommy John surgery.  I am not sure when this is going to occur and whether it will be Tommy John surgery or not, but he will require some form of surgery.I understand that he will take himself out of the baseball draft this year and go to Louisville as planned.  I understand the surgery is to be taken care of by the university and he will red-shirt this baseball season.  Because of major league baseball rules, I believe he must play for the Louisville Cardinals before he is eligible to re-enter the draft.  We will just have to wait and see how this comes out.last_img read more
