A motorcyclist involved in a crash Monday morning in Battle Ground has died from his injuries, according to the Battle Ground Police Department.John A. Christianson, 58, of Ridgefield was being treated at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver. He was taken off life support Wednesday afternoon, and “his desire was fulfilled to help others through organ donation,” Christianson’s family said in an email Thursday.Emergency crews were dispatched shortly after 8 a.m. to the intersection of Southwest 10th Avenue (state Highway 503) and Eaton Boulevard. A 1992 Lexus sedan, driven by Daniel S. Berry, 34, of Vancouver, and an Indian motorcycle, driven by Christianson, collided in the intersection, according to a police department news release.Witnesses said Berry was driving north on 10th Avenue and failed to stop at the red light at Eaton Boulevard. Christianson was traveling east on Eaton Boulevard when he was struck by Berry’s car, the news release said. Debris from the crash struck two nearby vehicles.Christianson was a longtime Clark County resident, his family said, and worked as director of engineering and operations at Trail Tech, a Polaris subsidiary in Battle Ground. He was riding his motorcycle to work when the crash occurred.
