Chris Wood Shows Off His Fancy Footwork In The Wood Brothers’ “Happiness Jones” Video [Watch]

first_imgThe Wood Brothers released their sixth studio album, One Drop Of Truth, on February 2nd via Honey Jar/Thirty Tigers. Buzz around the trio’s latest effort started growing following the release of the album’s lead single, “River Take The Town”, back in November of 2017. Today, brothers Oliver and Chris Wood and Jano Rix keep their new album’s momentum building with the release of the second single off of One Drop Of Truth, “Happiness Jones”, and the song’s subsequent music video.Premiered on Rolling Stone, “Happiness Jones” features The Wood Brothers’ traditional rollicking, upbeat, and nostalgic Americana sound. However, the song and the music video both rely on contrasts—with the lyrics undermining the song’s happy-go-lucky melody and the black-and-white music video directed by Daniel Long further pushing these binaries. The best moments of the music video for The Wood Brothers’ “Happiness Jones” are found as  Chris Wood shows off his beloved dance skills, which seem particularly exuberant with their juxtaposition against Oliver Wood’s stoic presence. As Chris Wood told Rolling Stone, “Someone suggested I do some ‘interpretive dancing’ for the video, along the lines of the little improvised dance I do for the live show.” He continued, “I enjoy moving to music so we tried to capture that in the video.” You can watch the video below:The Wood Brothers – “Happiness Jones” [Official Video][Video: The Wood Brothers]You can listen to The Wood Brothers’ One Drop of Truth in full below via Spotify:The Wood Brothers – One Drop of Truth – Full Album The Wood Brothers – One Drop Of Truth – Tracklisting1.River Takes the Town2. UK High Commissioner backs Ghana to beat England

first_imgThe UK High Commissioner to Ghana, Mr Matthew Johnson is upbeat about Ghana’s chances of beating England in Tuesday’s historic clash at the Wembley Stadium in London. He told Joy FM’s Super Morning Show host Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah that he was “very excited” by the international friendly encounter, which he said has been “long awaited”. He was emphatic the game “won’t be a draw”.“Genuinely, I think Ghana is going to come up on top,” Mr Johnson stressed, denying any traces of making diplomatic pronouncements. He said the people of England consider the Black Stars’ match against the Three Lions as very important, saying the venue for the game speaks volumes of its relevance.Matthew Johnson hoped it would have a “tremendous impact” there because football is the “number one sport” in the UK.However, the High Commissioner was not happy about the release of five key players from the England squad that would play Ghana today, which he said may affect the quality of the game which is highly anticipated. Even though the England manager has defended his decision, former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah says that was disrespectful, the BBC reported.England coach Fabio Capello has suggested he will change his entire starting XI for Tuesday’s home match, after releasing Captain John Terry and fellow defenders Ashley Cole and Michael Dawson, midfielder Frank Lampard as well as striker Wayne Rooney to their respective clubs.Matthew Johnson hoped the Black Stars would take advantage of the absence of these players to wallop his home country.“I am surprised [at] the release from the England side; so many of the England players. I would rather say they are going to play into Ghana’s hand.”Meanwhile Joy FM’s Sports Editor, speaking from London, said the mood in England is “cool” with little talk about the match. “May be it is a way of saying, ok, let’s take it easy against Ghana,” he remarked. He said generally people, including the Ghanaian players, are not happy about the release lessening the competitiveness of the match. The kick-off is 1900 GMT.Story by Isaac Essel/Myjoyonline.com/Ghanalast_img read more

FRANCOIS INVESTIGATION: ‘DON’T HIDE FROM TAXMAN,’ SAYS EXPERT

first_imgA DONEGAL tax consultant has urged some investors in Etic Solutions to take expert advice and come clean with the Revenue if they haven’t already.Letterkenny-based Niall Doherty was commenting after the latest revelations regarding the Ballybofey company and its boss Francois de Dietrich.Mr Doherty expressed genuine concern in relation to the tax, financial and health implications for investors in the scheme, and he was eager to voice sympathy with those who may have invested relatively large amounts of money in good faith. However he has urged anyone involved who may feel that they have tax exposures as a result of either placing untaxed money in the scheme, or as a result of having taken the proceeds from the scheme and failed to tax them, to seek expert professional tax advice from a Registered Tax Consultant as a matter of urgency. He told us: “I have been following this story on donegaldaily.com since the website broke the story.“I am sure most people have declared monies to the Revenue but sadly we have seen people in similar positions neglecting to face reality and when they are subsequently Revenue Audited – which is inevitable in a scheme of this magnitude and profile.“Not only will the Revenue authorities seek to have the original tax charge collected, but they will also seek to impose punitive interest rates for late payment of taxes, and they may also seek to impose a penalty which could be as high as 100% of the tax due. “We have seen in the past that tax liabilities of as low as €10,000, if left unpaid, could rocket to €80,000 or €90,000 once interest and penalties have been levied.“Naturally, this is a stressful time for the investors involved, but the Revenue have always treated taxpayers more leniently when tax irregularities are volunteered in a timely fashion. We would urge all taxpayers to please take this on board – we cannot stress this highly enough. “Living with the stress, anxiety and pressure of hidden irregularities can be severally detrimental to the health of those involved, and no one wants to see anyone suffering in this way.“Sadly we have seen this all too often in recent times, and people can suffer real anxiety and depression as a result. We do not want to see this happening to anyone.”Mr Doherty has urged anyone who may feel they have tax exposures or tax irregularities to contact him directly and he has confirmed that he will deal with all contacts in complete confidence. All Niall’s contact details are available on www.nialldohertytaxconsultants.ieFRANCOIS INVESTIGATION: ‘DON’T HIDE FROM TAXMAN,’ SAYS EXPERT was last modified: January 22nd, 2011 by gregShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)last_img read more
